This month's runway have given us a beautiful blur of red lips, from poppy to burgundy black. And pigmentation ranging from diluted to super-saturated. And textures running the gamut from mirror-line varnishes to drab mattes. If there's one beauty trend to forecast, it's a steady shower of red lips. Which shade's for you?

Although it's not for everyone, this comic-book look was the most theatrical take on red, especially the black liner. 

A barely-there reddish pink complemented the no makeup look.
 

The models at Paul Smith all looked like they'd been put on a diet of cherry lollipops, no?

You can’t for wrong with a sleek pony, faded makeup and lightly stained lips. Kelly Thompson for Kryolan created this au naturel look at Joanna Mastroianni.

The look at Bottego Veneta purrrrrrs glamour. We're all about this combination of wild curls, crimson lips, plus-size medallions and all-black clothes. 

When all else fails, dark cherry completes the look.
 

At Ruffian, James Kaliardos for MAC stained models’ lips by topping red lipstick with purple. The resulting berry hue gave a “just bitten” look.
 

One of the four stunning lip looks at Oscar de la Renta was this bright coral blended by Gucci Westman for Revlon. She used Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in It Girl.

That cat eye! That red pout! Those earrings! Can someone grab the smelling salts. . . puh-leez? Get the look here.

This fiery magenta is heating things up for fall. James Kaliardos used MAC Pro Process Magenta Chromographic Pencil and Cream Shadow in Rustic Red (part of MAC’s forecast eye palette out in March).

Team these silver smokies with a raspberry red pout for evening.

Diane Kendal used MAC Hot Tahiti Lipstick to give models a muted burgundy look.

Okay, maybe we don’t condone racoon eyes, but how can we resist this ruby stain? Dick Page used Shiseido's new Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Showgirl, applied with a fluffy brush to get a "sort-of defined lip."

Tom Pecheux for MAC applied High Energy Pro Longwear Pencil and MAC Runway Hit Retromatte Lipstick (both available this fall) on top of MAC Lip Conditioner to get this velvety pigmented hue.

Here's evidence that a bright orangey-red lip can perk up a complexion.
 

Makeup artist Maki Ryoke knows her way around hot-pink powder. She tapped a bit of fuchsia MAC Pigment at the center of lips coated with MAC Lady Danger, giving models intense color with lots of depth.

This vivid take on red-orange, created by Lucia Pica for MAC, was the focal point of the face. Get the look by blending MAC Lip Pencil in Redd on the entire lip, then apply a sheer veil of MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick on top. Finish it off by pressing MAC Pro Neon Orange Pigment over the lips for a vibrant color and velvety finish.

Jenny Smith for NARS gave models statement pouts using NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl.

Sexy lingerie and red lips go hand in hand, right? Moani for Hourglass Cosmetics melted Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Icon and Raven together to get this glossy rendition of classic red.
 

A Project Runway finalist got the red lip memo.
 

Thom Browne was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and fairy tales. The lip, created by Sil Bruinsma for MAC, was a heart shape painted with MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick at the center of the lip. He added MAC Pro Basic Red Pigment on top to complete this rich, rich, rich scarlet.

Dig this glossy cherry and panda eye look from Jen Kao? Yadim used MAC Brick Lip Pencil, Just a Bit Lipstick (available for fall 2013), and MAC Clear LipGlass to get this mirror-like reflectiveness.

Wet-looking lips ruled the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway. Dick Page for Shiseido opted for a combination of Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Sanguine (new for fall) and Drama.

Here’s look two of the four looks created by Gucci Westman for Revlon for Oscar's show. This strawberry hue was created using Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherries in the Snow. You can also get the look with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherry Blossom.

Neil Scibelli for Jouer Cosmetics used Jouer Hydrating Lipstick in Simone topped with Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer to complement the cat eye and voluminous hair.

There's something seductive about this not-too-shiny finish.

Jason Hoffman for NARS used NARS African Queen Lip Liner Pencil and NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil as the base, and NARS Norma Larger Than Life Lip Gloss on top.

Ombre insanity! Romy Soleimani for MAC described this look as “black-to-red ombre with a bright red center." She used MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil to define, MAC Cyber Lipstick for the corners and outer edges, MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick at the center and blended outwards, MAC Pro Black Chromographic Pencil at the corners of the mouth, and MAC Cherry Lip Pencil to blend it all together.

Not a fan of true red? Try something on the purple side.
 

Luc Bouchard for MAC gave models "wind-blown, frost-bitten lips" using a brown lip pencil and MAC Cyber Lipstick.

This maroon stain was created by Charlotte Tilbury for MAC, who layered MAC Pro Sin Lipstick and MAC Film Noir Lipstick.

Kabuki for MAC created this Cabernet stain with a blend of MAC Vino Lip Pencil and MAC Pro Burgundy Lip Mix.
 

Lucia Pieroni for Cle de Peau Beaute mixed Cle de Peau Extra Rich Lipstick in Mister Lincoln and Tuscany (available September 2013) to go Goth.

Kabuki for MAC defined the lips with MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil, then blended and diffused MAC Amorous Lipstick over the entire lip. He topped it off with MAC Clear Lipglass.

These dark lips were a cinch to create. Charlotte Tilbury for Maybelline used Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Deepest Cherry.

Matin Maulawizada for Laura Mercier opted for a brownish brick hue. He started with Laura Mercier Lip Silk as a base, then contoured and shaded the pout with Laura Mercier Coffee Bean Lip Pencil. He topped it off with Laura Mercier Deep Wine Lip Pencil.

The darkest red award goes to Francelle Daly for NARS. She created this muddy maroon using NARS Kenya Lip Liner Pencil and NARS Mambo Eyeliner Pencil (used as lip liner).
