Ava Anderson, Teen Beauty CEO
Most teenage girls are playing with makeup, experimenting with hair products and investing a lot of time and money into their beauty routines, but Ava's not your typical
teenage girl. She's actually creating her own
beauty brand! Every single ingredient in her whole line is non-toxic and scores a zero on the
Cosmetics Database. Here's a look at how she manages classes, homework and running her own biz!
6:00 am
Wake up, and take a toxic-free shower using my
Ava-Anderson Non-Toxic Cleanser, Exfoliator and Toner, plus whatever products I can find without the word "fragrance" in them. (Until, of course, I finish working with my manufacturer to create "all zero" products for all my beauty needs!)
6:45 am
Have a quick bite to eat, usually a protein shake, before heading off to Moses Brown, where I am finishing up my sophomore year. I drive with my 18 year old brother, Frohman. I just got my permit, so when he goes to college next year, I get to drive!
8:00 am
Start a long day of classes where I try my hardest to focus 100%, especially in chemistry which, ironically, is not my best subject. English and Ceramics are my favorite classes.
11:00 am
Lunch break! After I eat, I will quickly check in with mom at the office, and check in on our FB page to answer questions or post comments.
3:00 pm
Yoga class after school. It's funny how little flexibility football players have.
3:13 pm
Check in with my mom, again, while I'm on my 20 minute ride home, to get updates on any important Ava Anderson Non-Toxic developments that happened during the day.
4:30 pm
Minor interruption for a press interview. I don't know why we always allot just 15 minutes for interviews - they always end up taking much longer once whoever I'm speaking with looks up their products on the Cosmetics Database and is as shocked as I was.
5:00 pm
Look at formulations for new products (making up names is always fun); approve artwork for our new line that is in-the-works; look at some packaging options for new products with my mom. Choose prizes for our "Stars" that will be recognized at our first National Convention. Return some emails from the field.
5:30 pm
Dinner - I love to cook and help out at dinner but try to sneak away before dishes to start homework. I take my favorite Teavana tea to my room to study after dinner.
7:30 pm
Conference call with our National Training Director and our Consultants for Ava Anderson Non-Toxic. I always love to hear the enthusiasm they have for our non-toxic message and the stories they share. They love our products and are making an income by sharing them and this important message!
9:30 pm
When I finish homework, I research the latest news on toxic issues, especially the latest studies and news on the legislation that will hopefully go before Congress soon to clean up our products. Then checking in with our Facebook and twitter pages and of course my own Facebook page with my friends.
10:00 pm
I love to watch a little bit of TV when I can, so TiVo is a life saver.
10:30 pm
I try to get to bed by 10:30, because 6:00 am comes around awfully fast!
