Feminine and Seductive at Joy Cioci - NYFW Fall 2012
The beauty look at Joy Cioci was a little bit sweet and a little bit naughty. While the makeup focused on a deep smoky eye, the hair had a waterfall twist that made it feel young and innocent.
"Joy wanted a complex woman," lead makeup artist Uzo for Nars Cosmetics explained. So to contrast the dark smoky eye, Uzo balanced the look with a cotton candy kind of lip. "We used a basic light pink lipstick - Pure Matte Lipstick called Madere - with Turkish Delight on top." The cheeks were accented with a new Nars Multiple called Undress Me, which is a nude beige with flecks of silver glitter, and the brows were enhanced, but still kept pretty feeling.
Tommy Bucket for the Marie Robinson Salon created the woven hair style, which he described as a thrown together look for a girl who doesn't care too much and gets ready in ten minutes. (Not sure it's actually easy to DIY in a matter of minutes?) He created lots of texture in the hair with a drugstore hairspray and Ref Ocean Mist, which he said gives the look a little toughness, while the twist gives it that feminine feel.
The nail art was created by Candice Manacchio for CND, which featured two coats of Putty for a flesh tone and pieces of actual fishnet stockings on the tip accented with Blackjack for a sleek line. "It's reminiscent of that line that goes down the back of the leg," Candice said. "It's seductive, but still feminine."
