Eight water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism. They are chemically distinct vitamins that often coexist in the same foods. Supplements containing all eight are generally referred to as a vitamin B complex. Individual B vitamin supplements are referred to by the specific name of each vitamin (e.g. B1, B2, B3).
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)
Helps in the formation and regeneration of red blood cells, thus helping prevent anemia. It is necessary for carbohydrate, fat protein metabolism, maintains a healthy nervous system, promotes growth in children, increases energy, and is needed for Calcium absorption.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Works with soluble tyrosine in suntan-enhancing products. Believed to accelerate tyrosine in tanning products, and produces a characteristic yellow color in lotions. It is necessary for the maintenance of good vision, skin, nails and hair, alleviates eye fatigue, and promotes general health.

Essential for healthy teeth, gums and bones, it helps heal wounds, scar tissue, fractures, and prevents scurvy. Vitamin C builds resistance to infection, aids in the prevention treatment of the common cold, gives strength to blood vessels, and aids in the absorption of iron. It is required for the synthesis of collagen and is also one of the major antioxidant nutrients. It prevents the conversion of nitrates (from tobacco smoke, smog, bacon, lunchmeats, some vegetables) into cancer-causing substances. Moreover, Vitamin C has been shown to help slow the production of hyperpigmentation (age spots) while providing some UV protection.
Vitamin D
Regulates the body's absorption of calcium and is important in the formation of healthy bones, teeth, skin, and nails. Deficiency of Vitamin D can lead to dental decay. It is fat-soluble and is not sensitive to heat, light, or oxygen.
Vitamin E
Major anti-oxidant nutrient that retards cellular aging due to oxidation, supplies oxygen to the blood which is then carried to the heart and other organs (thus alleviating fatigue), aids in bringing nourishment to cells, strengthens the capillary walls, prevents the red blood cells from destructive poisons, and prevents dissolves blood clots. Vitamin E has also been used by doctors in helping prevent sterility, muscular dystrophy, and heart conditions.
Vitamin F
An essential fatty acid that helps form the membranes that protect the skin cells, preventing the formation of dry, scaly skin.
