Festival Chick at Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2013
With multiple "it" bags under her designer belt, it's no wonder Rebecca Minkoff has also mastered creating the "it" girl from the hair and makeup, too. "We're going on a roadtrip through the California desert," said makeup artist Sarah Lucero for Stila. She created a sun-kissed complexion with lots of terracotta and caramel hues. "The eyes are where it's all at," Sarah said. "It's about applying a pop of color - a minty turquoise creamy smudge stick drawn right into the center of the eye, which fits so well against that warm, peachy skin." And now we're seeing lids matching with tips. Haven Spa for Essie created the sea foam green manicure with two coats of Essie Mint Candy Apple topped of with an ultra-shine top coat.
Jeanie Syfu for Tresemme created the new take on beachy texture in the hair. "We're mixing smooth and straight elements with a little shine and matte," she said. "But the overall look is very casual and natural." She used Tresemme 24-Hour Body Mousse to rough dry the hair with texture. She created a messy middle part, that ultimately got swept to the sides on some models, and went in with a curling iron to create a bend in the hair. "We're not wrapping it all the way down," Jeanie explained. "I dont want it to look like it was manipulated with a heat tool, so were just doing random sections through the midlengths of the hair leaving the ends straight and we're just going to flat iron the ends so you get a polished version of the beachy texture."
