Zoe Saldana may have opted for an eye-catching gown at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, but her hair and makeup were simple, yet Hollywood glam. Makeup artist Vera Steimberg focused on the eyes, while hair stylist Mara Roszak created an elegant updo.

Skin

To balance the strong eye look, Vera opted for a neutral lip with a soft pink gloss.

"We decided to concentrate more on the eyes," said makeup artist Vera Steimberg. "So I used the amazing Shu Uemura eye lashes in slant black, giving a little more sophisticated, and feminine look to her eyes."

Eyeshadow
"With luminous skin and neutral-glossed lips, I was able to really focus on her beautiful almond-shaped eyes," Vera said. She opted for a more dramatic eyes using a violet and sable hues.

Hair Prep
Hair stylist Mara Roszak said, "We created an elegant but effortless look." She used TRESemmé Naturals Lightweight Mousse in Zoe's damp hair and blow dried her hair away from the face and created a half bun shape.

After Mara teased the top of the hair and used hairspray all over, she said to "spray fingertips and gently pull the hair around the face to loosen for an organic effortless look."
