This Awesome Italian Makeup Brand Just Arrived Stateside, and We’re Obsessed

By Klaudia Tirico / May 28, 2014

Is it me or is everyone obsessed with Asian beauty products? I get it, Korean brands pioneered the BB cream and lines from Asia reign supreme in the skin brightening category, but how about some love for, say, Europe? As I was scrolling through my Instagram feed one day, an Italian friend of mine posted a photo of a new store at our local Garden State Plaza mall in New Jersey called Kiko Milano. She seemed very excited about it (I’m assuming because she experienced the brand when she was vacationing in Italy), so I figured it had to be a big deal.

So I visited the mall to check out this joint for myself. It was like a mini Sephora filled to the brim with makeup, skincare and nail care products all with the Kiko Milano logo on them. Turns out, my local mall is the first place in the U.S. where this Italian cosmetic brand is sold. #Score

The professional cosmetics brand was founded in 1997 by the Percassi Group in Italy and has been offering cutting-edge discoveries and trends to the masses ever since. Their motto is simple: “To allow all women to treat themselves to the most innovative cosmetics without having to sacrifice their budget.” In my opinion, they nailed it. Everything from the facial cleansers to the eyeshadow formulas is top notch and won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Seriously, everything is under $50.

Kiko’s range of products and colors can be compared to the likes of Make Up For Ever and MAC, but at Target store prices. The brand launches limited-edition color collections with gorgeous editorials and hires talented makeup artists and professionals to help you in stores and give you makeovers. Even the packaging is irresistible.

I ended up spending hours at Kiko playing with the luxe formulas and chatting it up with the staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly, it was hard to leave. I walked out with a bag of products and only spent $40 on skincare and makeup. Does it get any better than that?

If you live in the tri-state area, you have to take a trip to Kiko Milano at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. Right now, the brand does not have a U.S. e-commerce, but if you want to learn more about their products, visit the UK site here
