Deborah Lippmann Ups the Ante on Glitter Polish
Just when you thought Deborah Lippmann's glitter nail polishes couldn't be more covetable, the nail aficionado has launched a new way to rock sparkle on your tips. The woman who brought you chunky confetti in lacquer form (see Happy Birthday) is debuting a new 3D Holographic formula with a spring/summer set that includes Ray of Light, an electric indigo, and Sweet Dreams, a candied pink.
I was excited to check out the new holographic shades because this is actually not the first time I've seen this type of glitter in a Deborah Lippmann bottle. Back in December, Gaga's Workshop at Barney's offered a limited-edition box set featuring a pearl shade in the 3D Holographic formula. I knew it was only a matter of time before this multi-faceted effect would be make another appearance in the collection.
The two shades have a gel-like texture to them, making them go on a bit thicker than other polishes. But after two coats (without a base color), the colors appear true to the bottle on the nail. The cool part about them is that they can be worn over any cream, shimmer or glitter lacquer for a truly one-of-a-kind manicure. Check out my mani below, but know the photo doesn’t quite do justice to the holographic effect. Lucky for you, we’re giving away a two-polish set in our Free Stuff section today, so you have a chance to experience it in person.
Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer in Sweet Dreams and Ray of Light are available online for $18 each.
