He finds hair magical and has been creating and defining hair trends for over three decades. While Umberto started his career in New York, he ended up opening his first salon in 1977 in Beverly Hills and a second full-service salon shortly after. He opened a U/Umberto LA Salon in 1994, which is a more affordable concept salon that could reach more people. His empire now encompasses 125 hairstylists, 20 manicurists, five makeup artists and three aestheticians.
