Mod Hair, Cat Eye at Alice + Olivia - NYFW Spring 2012
Judging from the invitation, we had a feeling it might be a garden party of some sort. And it was - a mod garden party.
"The clothes have a fun 60's feel to them, and so does the makeup," said lead stylist Thomas Dunkin for Sebastian Professional. "So the whole thing doesn't look too contrived and straight out of the 60's, for the hair, we mixed a bit of a 20's influence in there as well."

They used a big hair donut to create big shape.
Thomas created a big polished chignon that had a very Breakfast at Tiffany's feel. He sprayed Potion 9 Lite all over damp hair before blow drying with a round brush. Once the hair was secured into a ponytail, he used Shaper Fierce for maximum hold while forming the chignon around the hair donut.
The second look was a looser side swept style that had a touch of whimsy. He used a Potion 9 on the damp hair and blew out the hair. He used velcro rollers to set the hair, and then used his fingers to randomly pin the hair in place.
Sarah Lucero for Stila created the shimmering turquiose cat eye using Stila Eyeshadow in Mystic all over the lid topped with Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Electric used as eyeshadow to create the winged shape. Once she had the tourquoise shape down, she lined the rest of the look with Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in black. She finished the eyes with plenty of mascara and a touch of false lashes. For cheeks and lips, Sara blended Convertible Color in Gerbera and Lillium to create that mod look.
