Get the Look: The Upside-Down Cat Eye at Nicholas K

Fashion week has officially kicked off in New York, and while designers are showing their spring 2015 collections, we’re already thinking of ways to wear the beauty looks right now. The cool upside-down cat eye at Nicholas K, created by Avon’s Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren Andersen, is a look that doesn’t really scream spring, making it ideal for, like, tomorrow. Andersen says, “The focus of this look's on the inner corner of the eye. The rest of the makeup is matte and echoes the Saharan themes of the collection.” Here, she gives us a breakdown of the steps.

    Foundation

Andersen used a foundation brush to apply Avon’s Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Foundation onto the skin. It created a flawless canvas while letting the models’ natural glow (and even freckles) show.

    Bronzer

Fashion week is the best time to see how makeup artists use products in different ways. For example, Andersen used the Avon Glow Bronzing Powder as eyeshadow. She applied a lighter shade across the eyelid, then took a darker hue through the crease. Later, she used the same bronzer to contour the cheeks and hairline.

    Eyeliner

“Line the upper and lower lash lines with Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner, creating a downward point at the inner corner and extending out into a wing at the outer corner,” says Andersen.

    Lipstick

She topped it all off with a nude lip using Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick in Caramel Comfort. Then, she turned it into a matte finish by dusting a little bit of bronzer on top.
