Get the Look: Shay Mitchell’s Dulce de Leche Makeup

Shay Mitchell can do no wrong in our book. Whether she’s rocking a bright coral lip on vacation in Thailand, or giving us mega sultry vibes on the red carpet, the Pretty Little Liar’s star just gets it. Her makeup look at the People’s Choice Awards — courtesy of Mary Phillips — was no exception. Keeping the rainy weather in mind, Phillips opted for warm nude and caramel tones and played up her lashes. She wanted to work with the weather, not against it. “I really made a large emphasis on keeping the skin as dewy and glowy as possible. This palette pairing mixed with what we chose to play up regarding her stunning features, makes for an effortless strong sort of beauty,” says Phillips. Here is how she got this stunning look.

    Primer

Mary started by applying the Armani Prima Glow Moisturizing Balm to give Mitchell’s skin a perfect glow. Then, she followed with Armani Fluid Master Primer to lock in the moisture of the balm. This keeps the dewy glow in place without making skin look greasy.

    Foundation

Mary used three different shades of Armani’s new Maestro Glow Foundation (in 7, 8 and 5.5), applying the blend first with her hands, then patting it in with a Beautyblender. “I like to use varying shades, it gives the most realistic effect for sexy, healthy 3-D skin. Skin in its natural state, is never just ONE full shade,” said Phillips. “If you’re applying one whole color to you’re face, you’re making it look flat. Create a more natural 3D effect by layering sheerer colors.”

    Eyeshadow

For and understated, yet sexy, eye look, Phillips used a variety of the light and dark colors in the Armani Eyes to Kill palette in #10 Mirage for depth and pop. “The brown in this palette really gives the eyes that added dose of definition.”

Phillips lined the upper and lower lash lines with an additional swipe on the upper. “Make sure to get in between the lashes too,” said Phillips. “You really want that drama, but again, in an understated, un-heavy sort of way!”

Finally, Mitchell’s pout got a coat of Armani Lipstick Rouge D’Armani in Sheer Brown 202 (killer 90s lip color alert!), which Phillips applied all over with a lip brush.
