This Anti-Aging Treatment Targets the Younger Crowd

By Klaudia Tirico / January 22, 2015

I’m going to be 27 this year, and while I’ve already been using anti-aging products, most people my age don’t think they need to yet. If I weren’t a beauty editor, I’d probably skip out on the anti-aging products and stick with ones that prevent breakouts and dryness. Many anti-aging products are geared towards more mature skin, which means they can be too rich for younger complexions. But guess what? Once you hit 26, you’re losing one percent more collagen than you are producing, according to Dr. Russak of Russak Dermatology in NYC. It may not seem like a lot, but it’s sure to add up.

Skinceuticals noticed there was a void of anti-aging products for a younger population. Now, after six years of development, they are finally introducing the Metacell Renewal B3 emulsion, a treatment for early signs of photoaging that targets dullness, discoloration, blotchiness, wrinkles and loss of elasticity. The lightweight formula is blended with a combination of three active ingredients, including five percent niacinamide, which creates a barrier function on skin to shield it from environmental aggressors, as well as increase free fatty acids to prevent water loss. It’s the ingredient to use for treating wrinkles and breakouts – something all 20- and 30-somethings can benefit from. Metacell Renewal B3 contains the highest amount of niacinamide available over the counter, need I say more?

The formula also includes 15 percent glycerin to hydrate skin, and the glycerin also gives the emulsion the perfect soufflé-like texture that makes it awesome as a makeup primer. The feel of this product is something I’ve never experienced before. It feels amazing on skin and instantly perks up my complexion.

The Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3 ($110) will be available starting February 2nd at dermatologist offices (find locations here) and Skinceuticals.com
