Spring Beauty Trends at Nordstrom
I love Manhattan, but after hesitantly making the move to the other side of the Hudson, I'm loving Jersey for a variety of reasons. And one that's at the top of the list is Nordstrom! From the amazing shoe department to the endless sea of beauty counters, it's a retail therapy spa!
Last week I joined Nordstrom's National Beauty and Fragrance Director Cheri Botiz for a panel on the trends for spring. Cheri was accompanied by top beauty experts including Rick DiCecca, Estée Lauder Global Makeup Stylist; Ricky Wilson, Dior Celebrity Makeup Artist; Deborah Lippmann, Celebrity Manicurist and Founder of Deborah Lippmann; and Matin, Laura Mercier Celebrity Makeup Artist. Here are their four major trends to keep you looking fresh for spring:

We've already reported on the statement making lips we've seen from the Spring runways, so get your chapped winter lips in healthy condition so you can rock the vibrant shades of pink, orange and fuschia we've been seeing. You can go with bright shiny lips, but bold shades with a matte finish are also getting in on the action. Rick DiCecca, Ricky Wilson and Matin all agreed it's a very easy way to get a quick spruce up for Spring. Try MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Full Speed, Dior Rouge Lip Color in Rouge Blossom, and Nars Lipstick in Schiap.

Keep your peepers sparkling with a little shimmer. And if you're devoted to your matte shadow, Ricky Wilson explained how it's important to balance the textures on your face, stating that an all-matte look is "like a desert." He recommends using shimmery shadows on everyone, even if you're concerned about fine lines and wrinkles. Ricky's favorite eye palette is Dior 5-Colour Iridescent Eyeshadow in Earth Reflection, which is a combination of neutral shades that complement all skin tones. We also recommend Laura Mercier Baked Eye Color in Pink Petal, which can be worn wet or dry, and the Shiseido Luminizing Satin Trio in Voyage.

Polished nails are the "it" accessory no matter the season, but particularly for spring, the Nordstrom beauty experts are calling for bright, bold shades. Deborah Lippmann gave us the trick to perfectly removing polish without those bold colors bleeding onto our fingers. She recommends her Stripper To Go nail polish remover mitts, but you can also drench a cotton ball and press it on your nail to let the solution soak and then simply wipe away from your nail. For Deborah's hard-to-remove glitter polishes, she recommends wrapping your nails with the drenched cotton ball and a piece of tin foil. Leave it for a minute to help break up the polish and then wipe away from the nail for clean results. To get the bold nail look we recommend Estee Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Nail Lacquer in Mega Fuschia, Butter London in Teddy Girl, and MAC Nail Lacquer in Steamy.

It's time to give your fragrance a spring makeover with fresh new notes. The beauty team all agree that scents should be switched up with the season, and can even be different based on your mood. Get in the springtime mood with feminine scents like Versace Vanitas, Chloe Love, Chloe, and Annick Goutal Le Mimosa.
