The Spa Klaudia Tirico
"When I started the spa, I really wanted to create a place where people could learn about wellness education," says founder Barbara Close. "To learn the ancient arts of aromatherapy and herbal medicine. I wanted it to be more than a beauty spa."
The location opened in 1995, before the skincare line was born. It's a one-stop-shop for holistic skincare, herbal remedies, massage therapy and more. Plus, the boutique features the entire Naturopathica skincare collection and a variety of other niche, vegan brands.

Wise Concoctions Klaudia Tirico
"When I started to look at skincare lines and looking at what was out there in the natural space, I was realizing that there wasn’t really anything that was all-natural," said Barbara.
Her inspiration to create Naturopathica Skincare was the fact that chronic inflammation and irritation is the cause of aging. The high-performance skincare is made with natural and active ingredients that promise zero-irritation - just effective, good-for-you blends. The products are used in over three million treatments at the spa, as well as other leading spas around the country.
"Obviously our lines are known for high performance," she added. "But another thing that’s interesting is that the line is very sensorial. A lot of times, when you look at the cosmeceutical lines, they just don’t smell that great."

Holistic Skincare Klaudia Tirico
Barbara's goal is to slow down that inflammation with 100-percent, good-for-the-skin products. The line, created shortly after the Center and Spa, features 10 body care products, two hair care products and 34 skincare products all made with breakthrough technologies and trusted ingredients to promote healthy, younger-looking skin.
"As an esthetician, part of my background is really getting people to learn," said Barbara. "There’s so much hype in the natural world about ‘this ingredient is toxic.’ Nothing is toxic. None of that’s been proven - parabens, any of that. What has been proven is that parabens, propylene glycol sulfates are irritating to the skin. And when the skin is in chronic, what we call “inflam-aging”, it accelerates the aging process."Photo by: Klaudia Kaczmarek -
