Does the Chanel woman have split ends? That’s debatable. But for those of us whose closets aren’t stacked with tweed suits and quilted handbags (and who don’t have home hair salons), waiting too long between trims is sometimes an unavoidable fact of life. But now there’s a chic way to hide it.
At Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2015 garden-themed couture show in Paris today, hair stylist Sam McKnight styled models with loose, low-slung braids that started at the ends of the hair — all the better to work with the collection’s floppy hats and knotted veils. Some models even got a fabric flower pinned to the tails of their braids. The look struck us as the best of both worlds: with loose pieces framing the face, the hair looked romantic from the front, but the micro-braids kept it all in place — and kept any frayed ends under wraps.
