A Cool Way to Wear Matte and Metallic Nail Polish
By Klaudia Tirico / May 12, 2015
If there's one thing we've learned from nail pros, it’s that layering different formulas of nail polish can result in envy-inducing tips. But this combination we spotted on Deborah Lippmann’s Instagram takes it to a whole new level. Instead of using the same finish for your base and your nail art, try applying a matte polish as the canvas of a metallic floral design. #Genius.
To get a similar look, use Deborah Lippmann nail color in Fade to Black with the brand’s Flat Top mattifying top coat. Once your base is dry, create the floral pattern using Lippmann’s limited-edition metallic hues in 12th Street Rag and I’ll Take Manhattan. For extra dimension, color the center of the flower in with a cream color like Deborah Lippmann nail color in Lara’s Theme. Pretty, no?
