Hair Gets Kinky on the Runway with Dior’s Harness-Like Ponytails
If you’re not following editorial super stylist Guido Palau on Instagram yet, you may have missed his latest creation. At Dior’s Spring/Summer 2015 couture show in Paris today, he coiffed models with harness-like ponytails that are about as cool and conceptual as runway hair gets.
For the show, each girl’s hair was slicked back and styled into a looped chignon, which was threaded with one or two plastic or metal rings. On the other end of the ring, Guido’s team attached a long, straight tail that was equal parts equine and rope-like. The look mirrored the ring motif in the collection, where the detail was used to highlight bodice cutouts on the dresses, but also had a decidedly S&M vibe. Forget grey — we’re hot for Fifty Shades of Blonde and Brunette.
