Elegant Maturity at Suno - NYFW Spring 2012

By Klaudia Tirico / September 14, 2011

The models at Suno stepped out on the runway with elegant hair, pretty makeup and feminine nails - everything you would picture a spring look to be. I imagine myself wearing the below white mini-dress while attending a (grown-up) tea party in the look, but that's just me. The pros backstage showed us how simple it is to recreate the look.

Odile Gilbert for Kerastase started off by creating texture in the hair by scrunching it with her hands and some Kerastase Mousse Volumactive. She then collected the hair back to the nape of the neck and created a twisted chignon - by twisting pieces separately into one bun - with lots of texture and volume on the top. She finished it off by securing the bun with pins and spraying Double Force Spray all over.

The makeup look created by Carole Colombani for MAC may have been simple, but it was also quite striking. "It's a girl becoming a women," said Carole, "with this bridge between something very young but not so innocent." The face was dewy thanks to a sheer layering of Studio Moisture Cream, Matchmaster SPF Foundation, and Cakemix Cream Shadow. Carole created a taupe halo around the eyes with Satin Taupe and Copperplate Eyeshadow. The brows were natural and the blush and mascara were non-existent. The chicest part of the whole look was the ombre effect lip. "Begin at the center, and blend it out using a brush," Carole said.

The icing on the elegant cake came from Haven Spa for Essie. They used one coat of "Main Squeeze" on the fingers, and two coats of the same color on the toes.
