Faux Undercuts for the Noncommittal Grunge Girl at Charlotte Ronson - NYFW Fall 2011
Among the breed of cool kids who show up for Charlotte Ronson's show (and the after party), the asymmetrical '80s/'90s undercut had been enjoying a recent resurgence - that is, until everyone realized how much it sucks to grow out. For the designer's Fall 2011 collection, TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist Jeanie Syfu created a solution for the razor-phobic: the faux undercut.
This pink-haired model has made a splash on a few runways this season.
Two tight braids below a deep side part mimicked a shaved look while the hair on top cascaded over, its natural texture on display. Jeanie used TRESemmé Climate Control Mousse to add body to the loose strands, while Fresh Start Dry Shampoo gave hair an "airy and matte" look. Fresh Start No Frizz Creme helped to hold the braids down, but if you're not a pro with plaits, Jeanie recommends gathering hair into French ponytails instead, adding more hair and elastics as you work your way to the ends. Now you know what to wear to Coachella this year.
