Flawless Skin: Philosophy Divine Illumination

By Kaitlyn Dreyling / March 21, 2011

When people tell me how great my skin looks, Philosophy's The Supernatural Airbrush Canvas powder is my little secret (with a little help from Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer). It truly gives you a flawless, practically airbrushed look that even looks good up close and personal. So when I saw the new Philosophy Divine Illumination collection, I wanted to get my face on it stat! I mean glowing skin is that look we're all trying to achieve, right? Well now J.Lo has some serious competition, because these new face products give you that star-worthy warm and healthy glow.

I'm more of a powder lover (hello, supernatural airbrush foundation!), so I was a bit meh about trying the Philosophy Divine Cream-to-Satin Foundation SPF 25 ($45). OK, well the name barely gives it justice, because when you feel the texture, it's hard to describe (although "divine" is pretty good). It looks rich and creamy in the compact, but when you brush the product on your face, it's like a silky powder-cream hybrid - it's super light and smooth. It boosted my complexion without giving me a caked-on look you might associate with a cream foundation. The formula is made with peptides and antioxidants to improve your skin's texture, wrinkles and fine lines and keep you hydrated. I used my fingers to really blend it in, and it instantly smoothed my skin.

And then to really kick your glowing look into high gear, there's the Philosophy Divine Satin-Finish Illuminating Powder ($30) that gives you a soft-focus radiance that you thought you could only get in Photoshop. This silky and sheer powder is no joke! Dust it on bare skin to get a touch of glow, or use it over your foundation if you're looking to get more coverage. It comes with a brush tucked underneath, although I prefer my own powder brush, but it's still great for touch ups on the go. Plus, it doesn't settle into fine lines, so you only have worry about looking fab.

I think my complexion is committed to Philosophy for life. And if you feel like glowing, too, then get ready for this new collection, which launches on QVC on March 28 & 29!
