Get the Look: Celebs Love This Runway Hairstyle

Delpozo Spring 2015
The most popular celebrity hairstyle lately is also the easiest one to recreate. You’ve definitely seen it before: sleek straight hair parted down the middle, with the front sections tucked behind the ear. True story: I wore my hair like this back in elementary school, and you can only imagine the look on my face when I saw Global Creative Director for Moroccanoil Antonio Corral Calero use the same technique as little elementary school me at Delpozo’s Spring 2015 show. Say what?! I was so ahead of my time.
Beauties like Shay Mitchell and Lily Aldridge dressed the style up for the red carpet, while Jaime King (center) rocked it for day.
Instead of just slicking the hair and tucking it behind the models' ears, Calero secured the two sections in a tiny ponytail at the nape of the neck, underneath the rest of the hair. This is exactly what my friends and I did back in the sixth grade. It’s such a simple trick that keeps the style tightly in place, and you don’t have to constantly tuck it. No one will ever know you’ve got a baby ponytail hidden underneath your hair.
At Delpozo, Calero began by prepping the hair with smoothing and shine products for a sleek finish. To create the look, part the hair down the middle and separate the front sections about an inch or two from the rest of your hair. Tie your hair up, leaving the two front pieces out. Then, using a boar bristle brush, smooth down both sides and connect them at the nape of your neck. Take a mini elastic and tie the two pieces together. Let the rest of your hair down and finish with hairspray. So easy, no?
