Highlighter-Yellow Liner at Milly Spring 2013
By Kaitlyn Dreyling / September 13, 2012
"It's like you took a highlighter pen and just kind of swiped it across your eye," said lead makeup artist Romy Soleimani for MAC of the beauty look she created for Milly's Spring 2013 show. "It's very simple, it's very clean, very modern it's a little bit minimal." To create the neon hue across the lash line, Romy lined the eyes with MAC Chromaline in Pure White and then tapped MAC Pigment in Rock-It. She used Haute and Naughty Lash mascara to give the lashes a touch of black, and just touched up the skin with Face & Body Foundation where needed. "If the girls' lips are really red, we're just taking it down a little bit with lip erase," she said.
To complement the minimalist makeup look, Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri of R Session Tools created a "spontaneous, urban ponytail." The somewhat messy pony relied on Aveda Volumizing Tonic and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to create the lived-in texture. They used their hands and fingers to pull the hair back, to keep it looking casual and as if the models just happened to pull their hair back before the show.
Priti NYC was called in last minute to create the neon yellow pedicures. They dressed up the toes in Devil's Fig, a fluorescent shade that matched the pop of color on the eyes.
