Simple and Sophisticated at Jill Stuart Spring 2013

By Kaitlyn Dreyling / September 9, 2012

Jill Stuart always has a fresh, youthful look happening backstage, but this season its a little bit more modern and little bit more polished. "The inspiration is sophisticated but fresh," said lead stylist Odile Gilbert for Kerastase. "We're talking about modernity, and very beautiful hair." The look is described as a "headband" created with the models' own hair. Odile started by using Kerastase Mousse Volumactiv in the hair and blow drying it straight with a round brush. After parting the hair down the center, Odile took sections from each side of the head and tucked it behind the ears and secured them underneath the hair. She sprayed the look with Kerastase Double Force Hair Spray and she put Kerastase Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortel on the ends for shine.

"For Jill Stuart this season it was a faded hollywood glamour," said makeup artist Diane Kendall for Jill Stuart Cosmetics. "We've done a light covering of foundation, a really soft cream blush on the cheeks, and then we lined the eyes with the Jill Stuart Eye Pencil in a ruddy brown shade just on the top, blended out and applied Krylon grease paint on the lid for a wet looking eye."
