"The look is very soft and pretty, center-parted with a dry texture and loosely knotted with a few wisps. The inspiration is a little 70s and also Victorian," said Guido Paulo for Redken.

This graphic origami style was pulled back tight and sleek into a perfect chignon. Stiff extensions were bobby pinned into the hair and the ends were left to stick up straight like a feather. Hairstylist Luigi Murenu created hard, wood-like spikes of hair by prepping extensions with gel, then pressing them flat with an iron. His secret weapon: Kiehl's Clean Hold Styling Gel

We call this look a knottytail, thte lovechild of a knot and ponytail. "It's a new way of thinking about a ponytail," said hairstylist Ted Gibson for Beauty.com. His method: Twist hair like you're going to put it in a ballerina bun, but stop halfway (so you have a tail facing towards the bottom).
