Spring’s Hottest Ponytails Are a Little Loopy
By Klaudia Tirico / September 12, 2014
This looped twist on a classic ponytail can be worn to run errands or to a fancy black tie wedding. On the casual end, the hair at Rebecca Taylor was parted down the middle, gathered into a low ponytail, but then never fully pulled through. Easiest runway hairstyle ever? We think so.
Another super easy looped look was spotted at Tracy Reese, where models wore two headbands from the Scünci x Tracy Reese Spring 2015 collection. The bands were worn over a textured ponytail, resulting in a loop that almost resembles a chignon. Wearing a runway look to the gym has never been easier.
But if you’re looking to get fancy, try the Cleopatra-inspired look from Cushnie et Ochs. Antonio Corral Calero for Moroccanoil created a new take on a classic high ponytail by adding a second elastic about one and a half inches from the base of the pony and pinning it to the head.
Meanwhile, at Carolina Herrera, Orlando Pita designed a “sumo-wrestler knot” to go with the collection’s Japanese influence. This gives 'hairagami' a whole new meaning.
