New York Bridal Week: Backstage at Marchesa Klaudia Tirico
This week kicked off New York Bridal Week and we had the opportunity to go backstage at Marchesa to see the beauty look come to life. Aside from spotting the beautiful, ethereal gowns before they hit the runway, we got to chat with Revlon Global Artistic Director Gucci Westman and hair stylist for Kerastase Akemi Tamaribuchi about the hair and makeup for the show. Click through the slideshow for lots of wedding inspiration!

Over in makeup, it was all about the face. Gucci created a luminous complexion and a color-enhancing eye look. "I just wanted to make the girls look gorgeous," said Gucci. "I kind of did my makeup similar at my wedding. It stays, you don't have to worry about it, and you can talk to everyone without losing your look."

Gucci layered a matte grey eyeshadow over a matte brown shadow from the Bombshell and Adventurous Colorstay 16H Eye Shadow palettes. "I created a thin, thin black line [using ColorStay Creme Gel Liner] in the lashes on the top and bottom, and kind of smudged it with my fingers so it leaves a nice residue," she said. "I finished it off with little bit of Lash Potion Mascara in Blackest Black on top and bottom." To get the glowy complexion, Gucci used Nearly Naked Makeup and Powder "so the models' natural skin can show through." Cheeks were given a subtle pop of color with the limited edition Baby Stick for Lips & Cheeks.

Gucci's Wedding Lip Tip Klaudia Tirico
Gucci completed the look with a layer of ColorBurst Lip Gloss in Crystal Water. "I was just thinking, I don't know if it's really convenient to get married in a red lip," said Gucci.

Over in hair, Akemi Tamaribuchi for Kerastase created a really sculpted, clean bun. "Karen and Georgina [designers of Marchesa] had a wet idea and wanted the face to look open," she said. "So, we collaborated on the look together. It's just a feeling that we had for the girls."

Akemi created a horizontal line and pulled the hair away from the face "so it's really open and bright." The top was a sculpted side part. "The fringe area has a little bit of a lift along the hair line to expose it," said Akemi. "That creates a bit more structure." Then, she created a low pony and secured with bungee. She twisted peices of the hair to create a rope twist.

"First, we prepped the hair with Ciment Thermique, then added Mousse Substantive for shine, control, and some texture," said Akemi. "We used the Elixir Ultime in the cord braid for shine, detail and the structure we were looking for. Double Force Hairspray was used to aid along the way."
