Pick of the Week: Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

Cleansing balms may not be the first type of cleanser that people gravitate towards, but if you ask me, they should be. When I tried the newest addition to UK brand Elemis' Pro-Collagen range, I fell in love at first wash. After a long day of running around NYC (via the gross subway), my skin needs the deepest clean when I'm ready to hit the sack. Which is why Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is my cleanser of choice. Here's why.

First and foremost, it gets everything off. I can officially use my fancy towels because I don't have to worry about getting left over grime on them after I wash my face. I can assure you that I cleanse thoroughly, but for some reason my towels still have makeup residue all over them. I was getting pretty sick of washing twice (and wasting product). The ultra-creamy formula literally melts away makeup while nourishing skin with 100% skin-compatible ingredients. Each ingredient targets a specific concern. Padina pavonica firms and improves skin's elasticity, anti-oxidant rich elderberry oil conditions and smooths, starflower oil and optimega oil improve skin's metabolism and moisture barrier (without stripping the skin of natural oils), and mimosa and rose flower waxes restore elasticity and tone. Yup - all of that in a cleanser.

At first, the oily wax texture breaks up grime. Then, when you add a bit of water, it turns into a milky cleanser that washes away all impurities. You can even use it as a treatment mask by leaving it on for just 10 minutes. For once, my skin feels really clean and healthy.
