Nelson Vercher, lead stylist for Redken, wanted his models to look like they got caught in a rainforest. A rainforest equals humidity and humidity equals dreadful hair, right? According to Nelson, that's so wrong. "Normally we dread humidity, but I wanted to find a way to make it beautiful," he said. The answer to that is a load of product layering. Nelson started with wet hair and began layering on three different Redken products. First, a heavy, cream-based leave-in conditioner. Then, a silicone product (Redken Glass 01). And finally, a holding product (Redken Volume 06). This exact order is a must in order to create a glamorous, humid look. Apply each product starting at the nape of the neck. Next, he created a diagonal part starting from the top of one side of the ear, down to the bottom of the nape on the other side. From the sections, he created two French twists: the top one rolled down, while the bottom is rolled up. Push the two together, connect it with hair pins and you've got an Old World, elegant look.

While Nelson used a lot of product for the hair, Lisa Butler for MAC opted for just one product for the eyes, cheeks and lips. "The looks is based a bit from the 1930’s with a modern idea of having one color do everything," said Lisa. She used MAC Studio Finish Skin Corrector in Burnt Coral, a cream based shade, all around the eyes (super-bold!), on the cheeks and lips.

Deborah Lippmann kept the nails chic and sophisticated by layering two different shades to create a look that fit each piece from the collection. She applied a coat of Waking Up In Vegas, a putty shade, under a coat of Fashion, a unique taupe followed Addicted to Speed top coat. As for what she predicts for Spring? "The sky’s the limit."
