Retrospective: Channeling the Leading Ladies of Punk Klaudia Tirico
In honor of the PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibit, we’re feeling inspired by the women of punk - past and present. From Nancy Spungen to Beth Ditto, these leading ladies of punk all played muse to the Met Gala's star-studded guest list in some way. Who would you channel if you had a ticket to the Met Ball?

Nancy Spungen Klaudia Tirico
Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols found love in his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. Her extreme beauty look went hand-in-hand with her wildchild personality (the press called her "Nauseating Nancy" due to her crazy antics). From her messy, bleach blonde curls, to her bold blush, you can't get any more punk than Nancy. There were plenty of Nancy-esque smokies on the red carpet. We're sure Kristin Stewart watched Sid and Nancy before she left for the ball.

Siouxsie Sioux Klaudia Tirico
Susan Dallion, aka Siouxsie Sioux, was the lead singer of one of the original punk bands, Siouxsie and the Banshees. Her shaggy black hair and graphic bold eye makeup stood out as she rocked out on stage with her infamous band. A graphic eye a la Siouxsie Sioux was spotted on Ginnifer Goodwin, whose makeup artist was, in fact, inspired by the rocker.

Vivienne Westwood Klaudia Tirico
Designer Vivienne Westwood is one of the women responsible for bringing punk fashion to the masses. Her career took off when she started making clothes for Sex Pistols' manager Malcolm McLaren's boutique in London. There would be no PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibit without her. Vivienne loves a good head piece; perhaps Sarah Jessica Parker's massive, mohawk head gear was a nod to the designer's signature style.

Debbie Harry Klaudia Tirico
Debbie Harry, lead singer of the famous punk band Blondie, became a punk icon with her bleach blonde hair and awesome street style. The band's hit song, "Heart of Glass," is still a regular on our playlists and we can't help but feel like Debbie when we rock our classic Ray Ban Wayfarers. Anne Hathaway told reporters that she was channeling Debbie Harry with her new, blonde 'do. We can totally picture them comparing hair colors at the after party.

Beth Ditto Klaudia Tirico
Gossip's front-woman Beth Ditto is a modern day punk icon. A self-proclaimed punk, Beth doesn't wear deodorant or shave under her arms because she "thinks punks usually smell." What a rebel! We can't help but think that Madonna's black bob and mini bangs were a homage to Beth's punky coif.
