Rock Star Girlfriends at Jill Stuart Spring 2014

By Klaudia Tirico / September 7, 2013

It was all about rock and roll backstage at Jill Stuart's spring 2014 show this morning. The hair, makeup and nails all represented the genre and it couldn't have been any more beautiful. Who knew that a heavily lined eye and blackened blue nails would be so right for spring?

The makeup was created by the super-talented Aaron de Mey for Sephora. Much like some other looks we've seen so far this season, it was all about the eye. Aaron, who wanted the models to channel rock stars' girlfriends, used Givenchy Magic Kajal Eye Pencil in Magic Black to outline the upper and lower lash line. Then, "to make it look more expensive," he added a touch of metallic silver to the inner corners of the eyes (he used the silver shade in the Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No. 7 Plush Shadow Palette in The Starlet 204). The rest of the face was left "fresh" and the lips bare.

Odile Gilbert for Kerastase finished the beauty look with Kate Moss-inspired strands - think messy middle parts and a ton of texture. Using her fingers, she twisted pieces of hair (leaving the ends straight) to create that grungy texture. She used a mix of Kerastase Powder Bluff, Mousse Bouffante and Laque Couture to achieve the "rock and roll on holiday" hair.

As for nails, no light and bright colors here! Julie Kandalec for essie actually chose a hue from the brand's fall 2013 collection: After School Boy Blazer, a blackened blue shade. "It's in for spring, but unexpected," said Julie. We're totally feeling it.
