Get the Look: Rose Byrne’s Grey Smoky Eye

If there was a modern remake of Saturday Night Fever, Rose Byrne (rocking this look at the 2014 Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards) would be cast as lead. Her metallic silver jumpsuit paired with a grey smoky eye and simple hair tucked behind the ears is far from a period costume, but still gives off a cool, 70s disco vibe. Kudos to makeup artist Georgie Eisdell for complementing the look in a not-so-literal way. She gives us the scoop on how to recreate the makeup at home.

“I wanted to keep her makeup really clean, cool and chic,” said Eisdell. “The focus was all on her eyes.” She used Laura Mercier Matte Eye Shadow in Buttercream all over Byrne’s lids for a flawless base.

“I then mixed Laura Mercier Matte Eyeshadow in Twilight Grey with NARS Eye Shadow in Namibia to get the perfect medium shade of grey,” she said. “I put this color over her lid, blending into the crease slightly to create a smoky effect. I brought the color under her eyes to create a deeper smoky effect, graduating from stronger to lighter toward the inner corner under the eye.”
