When shopping for makeup, what is the first place you run to? The beauty counter at your favorite department store or the drugstore? How about the subway? No? Well that's about to change. Beginning this Monday, L'Oreal Paris is going where no other beauty brand has gone before - under ground! For the first time ever, L'Oreal has partnered with the MTA to bring you the first ever intelligent vending experience to hit the NYC subway systems.
Even though beauty vending machines have been slowly creeping up at airports (have you seen the Benefit machines
anywhere yet?), this particular on-the-go shopping machine, developed by digital agency R/GA
, ups the ante on its predecessors. Not to mention it's at a subway station!
The L'Oreal Paris Intelligent Color Experience is a three-step process that identifies the colors your are wearing, recommends L'oreal Paris products to match your outfit or clash with it, and let's you buy the recommended goodies right on the spot. The best part? The entire process only takes two minutes so there is really no excuse to show up somewhere without looking your best. Now if only we can get the MTA to set up vanities inside the trains so we can really get ready on the go.
The Intelligent Color Experience opens this Monday, November 4th at the Bryant Park/42nd St. station until December 30th.
Hopefully we will see more of them popping up in the future.
