Tilda Swinton Shows Off the "Cool" Way to Wear Lipstick

 

We have yet to see Tilda Swinton do her thing as the newest face of Nars (her spring makeup ads don’t drop until January), but she has been wearing the makeup extremely well lately. Case in point: the epic red lip she wore to the 2014 RADiUS Holiday Party hosted by the brand. Makeup artist James Kaliardos kept the overall look super minimal, with just a burst of color at the pout.

 

“Tilda’s look featured a bold red lip, so I pulled back on the eye and shaded it with soft hues to give depth and luster without looking like shadow,” says Kaliardos. “It’s a tougher, cooler way to wear lipstick.” 

 

Kaliardos used Annabella Audacious Lipstick for Swinton’s look, with a sheer veil of Sex Appeal Blush on the cheeks. “The faint hint of blush complements her skin tone but doesn’t overpower, giving her cheeks a healthy glow. Strong, modern, elegant but cool.” As if Swinton needed to look cooler than she already does.
