Two Runway-Worthy Headbands That Are Easy to DIY Beauty Blitz
We wanted - scratch that, needed - the hair accessories from the Dolce & Gabbana and Oscar de la Renta fall collections the moment we saw them. And short of befriending the designers (we wish), a craft project was the best way we knew to get our hands on them. Here, we give you the seriously simple step-by-step.

The Inspiration Beauty Blitz
When we saw these rosette- and pearl-adorned crowns on Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2012 runway, we 1) hyperventilated, then 2) ran to the craft store.

Step 1: Make Pearl Accents Beauty Blitz
Attach each pearl to a filigree charm using glue. Giving the pearls a flat base will make it easier to glue them on the headband.

Step 2: Make Lace Accents Beauty Blitz
Cut a piece of lace about 3 inches long.

Step 3: Attach the Charms Beauty Blitz
Starting in the center, begin gluing lace accents, pearls and other materials to the headband. We went with a random placement, but neat rows would look amazing, too.

Step 3: Attach the Charms Beauty Blitz
Keep adding pieces to the headband. Go crazy! Each of the pieces on Dolce & Gabbana’s runway was a little different; so there’s no wrong way to build yours.

The Inspiration Beauty Blitz
We knew these ribbon headbands from Oscar de la Renta’s fall runway would be super easy to recreate (the artfully undone faux bob is another story...).

Step 1: Take Your Measurements Beauty Blitz
Wrap the ribbon around your head, leaving about 18 inches at the bottom - a little longer than you’ll want the headband to hang in back.

Step 3: Find the Center Beauty Blitz
Fold the ribbon in half and make a crease in the middle.

Step 4: Add the Brooch Beauty Blitz
In the spot where you made a crease, pinch the ribbon and pin the brooch in the center.

Step 5: Glue (optional) Beauty Blitz
A drop of glue can keep the brooch from wobbling.

Step 6: Iron Beauty Blitz
If you’re feeling particularly detail-oriented, iron any wrinkles out of the ribbon (we used a mini flat iron).
