What’s In My Bag: Nail Guru Deborah Lippmann

Twelve tubes of lipstick? Poetry scribbled on Sephora receipts? Keys to a Harley? You can tell a lot about a person by the contents of her bag. In our What’s in My Bag series, we ask style insiders to spill the contents of their purses in hopes of finding a few gems.

 

Deborah Lippmann is the ultimate nail guru. Aside from painting the tips of Hollywood’s elite, you can find her backstage at all of the hottest fashion shows creating the nail looks for designers like Badgley Mischka and Kate Spade. Lippmann also has her own line of nail polish, lipstick and nail treatments — all named after songs as an ode to her musical roots (Lippmann is an accomplished jazz singer!). Manicure junkies are sure to have at least one Deborah Lippmann polish in their arsenal. 

 

"I'm obsessed with my Goyard Canvas Tote handbag [1]! It's lightweight and easy to carry but it can also fit everything I need – my phone, iPad, laptop, you name it — and it never breaks on me. I love that it comes in a variety of colors too, like the grey I have now for summer – super chic. With a bit of mascara and lipstick you can completely change your look from day to night!”

The wallet was a gift from my good friend Bob, who I met at a charity event in Arizona. It's just the most gorgeous classic black Chanel style with stunning zipper detailing and all the room I could ever need inside. It's the ultimate luxury while also being practical – I could probably carry all my essentials in just my wallet if I wanted to.”

 

“You’re bound to find Peanut M&Ms [11] (my guilty pleasure!) and a bottle of Perrier [12], which acts as a treat when I'm trying to avoid snacking. At any given time I probably have four nail polishes, buffers, a nail file, and my deborah lippmann Stripper To Go [13] for easy touch-ups. A lost piece of jewelry usually also shows up at the bottom of my bag, like a lone earring I’ve been looking all over for!”
