Pat McGrath’s Swarm of Butterflies at Dior Beauty Blitz
Pat McGrath released a swarm of "techno butterflies" on Christian Dior's Spring 2013 runway. She transformed 55 models using hundreds of individual Swarovski crystal beads to produce a brilliant mix of texture and color on the eyes. The result was a dreamy, whimisical look that only Pat and Dior could pull off.

Zero Movement Beauty Blitz
Pat deftly affixed each crystal, one by one, on the models. How did she get them to stay put, as models checked their phones? "A lot of 'Shut your eyes, don't move!'" Pat told us.

Patience is Key Beauty Blitz
"They're lovely girls, very patient young ladies. And they all went out with the look after the show. And I wanted them to take it off to give back my beads," Pat joked of her prized crystal beads, which were flown to Paris from New York by her assistant.

Sticky Situation Beauty Blitz
Pat used fake eyelash glue to stick each crystal bead onto models. According to Style.com, Pat had to start at 8:30 am to get all the girls ready for a 2:30 pm show.

ROYGBIV Beauty Blitz
The crystals were applied on top of bold lids, some clashing and others complementing the color of the crystals used. To get the saturated color, Pat topped cream shadow with powder shadow. No two models were the same.
